Mall of America is not only one of the most visited tourist attractions in the US, but in the whole world! It takes only 15 minutes to get there from downtown Minneapolis and even less from Minneapolis – Saint Paul International Airport. So if you get to travel to one of the Twin Cities, Mall of America is a must-see.
There you will find 50 restaurants and more than 500 stores, an indoor theme park and a lot of other family attractions and entertainment options. More specifically, there are major department stores and various retailers, so you can opt for fashion, home goods, kids toys and much more. Keep in mind there’s no sales tax on clothing or shoes in Minnesota, which would be another reason not to miss Mall of America if you are a fashion devotee.
While at the mall, one could walk for about a half a mile while still staying on the same level, so that should tell you how big the mall is. Quite recently, in 2015, it got new additions, that is a new atrium, two new hotels and some new luxury retailers.
You will certainly find your favorite place, but still keep an eye on special deals and happy hours along the way.
If you bring your family, having a great time is guaranteed. The theme park is called Nickelodeon Universe® and has 27 rides and attractions to offer, so no wonder it’s a family and kids’ heaven! One of the most popular attractions is Flyover America, a flight simulation that will take you to a virtual tour of the country’s landmarks. SEA LIFE® Minnesota Aquarium and Smaaash both offer interactive exhibitions for kids and LEGO store is another obvious choice when you get there with your little ones. If you’re coming for a different form of entertainment, head to the Theaters at Mall of America.
